Abstract
The previous chapters described the various network segments of a typical LTE wireless service providers network, in particular the EUTRAN, EPC, EBH, Metro, and Core. These chapters provided the reader with a good background on the network itself, needed to develop meaningful and relevant models needed for network analytics. This chapter not only defines how the legacy systems differ from the proposed next-generation performance and fault analytics system (NGNM), but also the practical aspects of operationalizing this NGPF analytics platform in a carrier network. This chapter will describe the aspects of a complete practical system suitable for an LTE carrier infrastructure and some practical approaches to realizing a system using an incremental approach. This chapter also describes the traffic collector that diverges from a legacy NMS system and its practical considerations for deployment in a representative LTE wireless service provider infrastructure.
