Abstract

The exact solution for singularity fields of stress and strain near the stationary crack tip for plane strain combined mode crack is presented. This solution satisfies the basic equation and full boundary condition on the crack faces. It has been found that this exact solution have a discontinue line across which the three order derivative of stress function suffers discontinuity while stress and strain fields are themselves continue. The necessary condition under which the weak discontinuity is possible has been established.

Using the improved Runge-Kutta method, the angular distribution functions of stress and strain fields are obtained with very high accuracy.
