Die meisten Manager verstehen die Notwendigkeit von Innovation. Unternehmen müssen ständig ihr Produktportfolio verändern, indem sie es um neue Produkte ergänzen. Die Herausforderung besteht darin, erfolgreiche neue Produkte zu entwickeln, die vom Markt schnell und dauerhaft akzeptiert werden. Allerdings scheitern viele neue Produkte, weil sie nicht vom Markt angenommen werden oder weil die Marktakzeptanz länger dauert, als Manager das erwarten.
