Zusammenfassung
In diesem Kapitel wird das vegetative Nervensystem mit körpereigenen Überträgersubstanzen wie Acetylcholin, Noradrenalin und Adrenalin und die Arzneimittel mit Wirkung auf das vegetative Nervensystem beschrieben. Dazu gehören Parasympathomimetika und Sympathomimetika sowie Parasympatholytika und Sympatholytika. Es wird auch der Einsatz bei Erkrankungen wie Demenz, Inkontinenz, Bluthochdruck und benigner Prostatahyperblasie abgehandelt. Es werden Gewebshormone wie Histamin, Serotonin und Eikosanoide und ihre Bedeutung für bestimmte Erkrankungen geschildert. Arzneimittel, die die Rezeptoren für Histamin (H1-Rezeptor-Blocker) hemmen, werden bei allergischen Reaktionen oder (H2-Blocker) zur Hemmung der Magensäuresekretion verwendet. Serotoninantagonisten werden im Abschnitt Verdauungstrakt abgehandelt, Serotoninagonisten finden Verwendung bei der Migräne. Eikosanoide (Prostaglandine) spielen eine wichtige Rolle bei Schmerz und Entzündung.
