Aneurysmatische Gefäßerkrankungen: Terminologie, Ätiologie und Lokalisation

Zusammenfassung

Bei einem Aneurysma handelt es sich um eine umschriebene Erweiterung eines Gefäßes. In diesem Kapitel werden die Ursachen der verschieden Formen und Lokalisationen von Aneurysmen dargestellt. Da die genetischen und molekularen Grundlagen vor allem am abdominellen Aortenaneurysma (AAA) untersucht worden sind, diesen diese Aneurysmen hier im Fokus. Drei Prozesse stehen hierbei im Vordergrund bei der Ausbildung solcher Aneurysmen: Die Degradation der extrazellulären Matrix, ein chronischer Entzündungsprozess sowie eine Reduktion der mesenchymalen Muskelzellen.
