Polychaetes belong to the animal phylum Annelida. Most of them live in water but a few have also a terrestric life. They obtain their food as raptors of small marine or terrestric animals or as plant or detritus feeders. All this food may contain eggs or larval stages of parasites. Thus they may act as intermediate hosts (Peoples 2013).
