Zusammenfassung
Der Begriff Verantwortung, vor allem für etwas, hat vielfältige Bedeutungen und wird häufig mit Individuen, Staaten oder Organisationen in Verbindung gebracht. In komplexen gesellschaftlichen Gefügen rücken aktuell Fragen nach der Verteilung von Verantwortung zwischen verschiedenen Akteur:innen in den Vordergrund. Entsprechend diskutieren wir den Verantwortungsbegriff mit Blick auf Praktiken und Prozesse der Responsibilisierung. Im Fokus unserer kultur- und sozialanthropologischen Perspektive steht die praktische Hervorbringung von Verantwortlichkeiten, also wo und wann Verantwortung von wem aufgebracht, angenommen, verweigert, übernommen oder zugeschrieben wird. Wir illustrieren diese Überlegungen anhand von drei empirischen Beispielen aus eigener Forschung: Plastikmüll in Kambodscha, Umgang mit Geflüchteten auf Malta sowie Sargassum-Algen in der mexikanischen Karibik. Diese münden in drei Thesen zu Verantwortung in der Praxis, die Responsibilisierung im Kontext von Ländergrenzen überschreitender Phänomene neu beleuchtet.
