Summary
Eighteen patients with ocular herpes zoster involvement were treated with either topical Acycloguanosine (n = 13) or intravenous therapy (n = 5). The preliminary results compare favourably with the results of therapy reported in the literature. Only one patient required topical steroids. Further controlled studies are required.
Zusammenfassung
18 Patienten mit okulärer Beteiligung bei Zoster ophthalmicus wurden mit Acycloguanosin behandelt, 13 mit Lokaltherapie und 5 intravenös. Die Therapieergebnisse erscheinen im Vergleich mit den in der Literatur berichteten Ergebnissen günstig; endgültige Schlußfolgerungen werden aber erst nach kontrollierten Studien möglich sein. Besonders ermutigend ist, daß nur ein Patient mit lokalen Steroiden behandelt werden mußte.
