Abstract

In the last couple of years car manufacturers like Volkswagen and Daimler Benz have calibrated their serial diesel engines for the use of Biodiesel. In doing so they insist that the porperties of this Biodiesel must comply with the preliminary standard DIN 51606 for Plant Methyl Ester PWW. Table 1 compares important properties of diesel, rapeseed oil and PME.
