Abstract
The wrist joint, although extremely mobile in all three planes of Space, is nevertheless able to support several times the body weight without damage. Its architecture, based on eight bones (Fig. 1.1) and a special ligamentous bonding, is very complex but guarantees stability under all circumstances. If a Single component should fail, whether it be bony or ligamentous, the articulation becomes unstable and painful. It may then develop progressive deformity and arthrosis.
