Zusammenfassung
Die dominierende Rolle der natürlichen Silikate (einschließlich Quarz) besteht darin, dass sie mit einem Anteil von etwas über 90 Vol.-% am stofflichen Aufbau der Erdkruste beteiligt sind (Tabelle 2.2, S. 37). Darüber hinaus besitzen sie eine überragende technische und wirtschaftliche Bedeutung als mineralische Rohstoffe.
