Abstract

“Walk-Rally” (WR), an orienteering-like recreation game, is common especially in Japan. Plenty of trials to combine WR and educational activity are shown by some educators. We developed a WR support system based on the mobilephones having a function of two-dimensional (2D) code reader. Our system can be adapted to both of following two cases: 1) WR Participants read 2D codes placed at each check points with their mobilephones. 2) Human checkers having a mobilephone at each check points read a 2D code which is printed on each WR participant’s ID tag. We tested our system with two events whose populations were 100 600. During these events our system had been working successfully.
