Abstract

This paper describes improvements of an annotations sharing system on web-based materials named “Writable Web”. According to experimental results, the users of the system insufficiently made asynchronous discussion, and annotated passages in a material were not properly organized because large part of the material are colored when there are many annotations in the material. We implement social tagging function and emphasizing passages function to solve these problems. We also conduct an experiment to evaluate the usefulness of these functions.
