Abstract

Conceptual design method and modeling technology for microcomponent are introduced. Concerning the important meaning of conceptual design in the product development, a modeling framework for the microcomponent conceptual design is studied. FES (Function- Effect-Solution) model is put forward. The function modeling, effect modeling and solution modeling of microcomponent are described respectively. The relationship of function, effect and solution is analyzed, and a case is used to illuminate the conceptual design process of microcomponent. Effective design information is provided by the conceptual design model for later design phases.
