Abstract

Bronchoscopy is an important diagnostic and emergency tool which needs to be available for a rural surgeon. Investigations of dyspnea and haemoptysis as well as emergency treatment of airway obstruction, atelectasis or haemorrhage from the respiratory track can be safely done with flexible bronchoscopy in the rural setting.
