Zusammenfassung
Zwangsstörungen kommen mit ca. 2% in der Allgemeinbevölkerung wesentlich häufiger vor als früher angenommen. Es dauert oft viele Jahre, bis ein Zwangspatient eine korrekte Diagnose und eine adäquate Therapie erhält. Ursache und Entstehung sind multifaktoriell bedingt. Der Krankheitsverlauf ist häufig chronisch und mit einer ausgeprägten psychiatrischen Komorbidität und psychosozialen Behinderung assoziiert. Unter den therapeutischen Ansätzen kommt der Pharmakotherapie mit serotonerg wirksamen Antidepressiva und der kognitiv-behavioralen Psychotherapie eine zentrale Bedeutung zu.
