Abstract

The paper presents a method for designing 2-D FIR linear-phase filters using a closely connected parallel machineas a computation platform. The 2-D FIR filter design according to the equiripple error criterion in the passband and the least squares error criterion in the stopband is considered. In the method, the filter design problem is transformed into an equivalent bicriterion optimization problem. The original problem is partitioned between processors using the regular domain decomposition method. A design example demonstrating the performance of the proposed approach is presented. Possibility of obtaining equiripple solution both in the passband and in the stopband is also discussed.
