Abstract
This chapter examines existing international, regional and national anti-trafficking legislation. The Palermo Convention and its supplementary protocols, specifically the Palermo Protocol, guide the development of regional and national legal instruments to combat trafficking. The chapter contextually analyses Mozambican and South African trafficking legislation, drawing out similarities and differences as well as weaknesses.
