Abstract

The design and development of a 3D laser scanner is presented. The scanner is based on a time of flight sensor able to scan a two dimensional profile of the environment. The proposed device provide one more motorized degree of freedom for the sensor in such a way to scan the 3D environment is possible. A control system is designed and implemented. Some experimental activity was carried out in order to evaluate the performance of the scanner. The results are presented and discussed.
