Abstract

Some argue that we have slipped into the Anthropocene , an epoch marked by the unprecedented degree to which humans have shaped global environmental change. Here, Labrecque explores Catholic and transhumanist renderings of the natural world as well as the place and role of (post)humans within it so as to include the often neglected issue of environmental impact in conversations about heightened mastery over material existence and the salvific potential of biotechnology .
