Abstract

Transaction costs theory explains the existence of the costs of economic exchange, which are very often not shown in the costs analysis. Transactions costs are the consequence of the relationships between entities and occur both before and after signing the contract. In practice, transaction costs are not identified, although proper assessment of the total investment costs requires knowledge of the size of transaction costs. The aim of the paper is to identify and estimate the size of transaction costs in the IT project implementation on the example of Silesian Card of Public Services in Poland (ŚKUP project).
