Ultrafast Dynamics Driven by Intense Light Pulses

Abstract

The review covers recent progress in the development of X-ray pulse metrology essential for experiments at Free Electron Lasers. The scientific section is focused on time-resolved studies of ionization dynamics of atoms, molecules and (bio-)nanoparticles. We discuss the role of ionization dynamics for high resolution imaging of bio- and bio-like nanoparticles and illustrate the potential for multi-directional imaging of unique non-reproducible samples.
