An Extended Contract Net Protocol with Direct Negotiation of Managers

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: Studies in Computational Intelligence ((SCI,volume 544))

Abstract

This paper introduces a new coordination scheme for multi-agent systems. This is obtained by combining the contract net protocol with a direct negotiation between managers. The results regarding the resource allocation in a distributed system are favourable, as proved by the state space analysis obtained with a Petri net model. The envisaged application is for holonic manufacturing execution systems.
