Abstract
The article contains a description of modeling and analysis of dynamic results of a monorail vehicle in simulation environments for various purposes. The analyzes carried out are aimed at checking the correctness of the calculation engine of the virtual reality environment Unity. The Unity system in terms of parameters and the method of modeling mechanical objects is similar to typical MBS (MultiBody Simulation) environments. The authors used for the comparative analysis MBS system: Universal Mechanism dedicated for testing rail vehicles. Despite applying the same parameters as in Universal Mechanism, the monorail-track model made in Unity did not achieve satisfactory convergence of results between the models. The correctness of the simulation calculations in the Universal Mechanism system was confirmed by analytically determining the value of centrifugal acceleration. Discrepancies were found between the recorded results and the behavior of the vehicle observed in the animation. The observed behavior of the vehicle during the animation was more realistic than the recorded acceleration course. The presented arguments suggest that the Unity engine (solver) is insufficiently powerful to perform detailed simulations.
