Description

“The Johannesburg Declaration on sustainable development from our origins to the future” (Resolution A / CONF. 199/20, adopted on 4 September 2002) is the document drawn up and signed during the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) held in the capital of South Africa, Johannesburg, from August 26 to September 4, 2002.

The Declaration encompasses the will of the representatives of the population of the world to renew their commitment to sustainable development at all levels: local, national, and international. Conscious that the human being is facing an important crossroads in its history, the 191 heads of state and government, with the participation of numerous representatives of local entities and more than 700 nongovernmental reviews, have announced that they want the burden of pursuing the objectives of sustainable development with responsibility towards one another, towards all living beings, and towards future generations.
