Abstract

Information is presented on the book format, abbreviations, diagnostic features including external body structures and genital structures important for identification (e.g. aedeagus, parameres, spermatheca, and terminal segments of abdomen), microdissection and preparation of genital structures for examination and diagnostics, image production, a review of collection methods and habitats, and the role of DNA barcoding in supporting morphological identifications.
