Abstract

Over the past five years the Internet of Things (IoT) technology has grown rapidly, finding applications in several sectors. Large shipping industries are already investing in IoT techniques to optimise transparency, safety and reduce costs. This research proposal aims to develop a smart platform that facilitates the management of critical marine systems, contributing to the generation and transfer of knowledge in the fields of Edge Computing, Intelligent Models and Virtual Organisations.
