Abstract

The communication disorders associated with multiple sclerosis can be more complex in nature and presentation than has been generally accepted. Usually, textbooks and articles have focused on the incidence and presentation of dysarthria; rarely have dysphasia, hearing loss, elective mutism or dysphonia been mentioned, and yet they are certainly known to be features of the various communication problems which may present in the course of the disease.
