Abstract
In Ref. 1 we applied path integral quantization to a classical 2D gravitational Lagrangian with R 2 term. This model is numerically evaluated by Monte Carlo techniques, employing Regge’s simplicial calculus to reduce the infinite dimensional degrees of freedom to a finite number. In general, for quantum gravity no unique functional integration measure exists. In 2D, however, its influence can be studied by comparing the numerical results to analytic predictions coming from conformai field theory and matrix models. Special interest is given to scale invariant measures and the DeWitt measure.
