Abstract
As previously described, the linkage tier connects nodes in a distributed networked environment. Metadata transmission, protocol stack implementations and deployment architectures are major concerns within this chapter. The question is how to transmit and distribute metadata in arbitrary forms. Previous sections developed certain metadata taxonomy and introduced different metadata types. Within the scope of this chapter we discuss metadata utilized for deployment configuration, streaming and encapsulation in multimedia asset delivery.
