Abstract
Hypoxanthine and xanthine determination is necessary in purine metabolism disorders such as xanthine oxidase deficiency. Until now these two compounds have been generally measured by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).1 Because of its high efficiency and rapidity,2 capillary electrophoresis (CE) was chosen to develop a method for the determination of hypoxanthine and xanthine in urine to diagnose xanthinuria.
