Cytokine Responsiveness of Germinal Center B Cells

Abstract

Because tumors often represent differentiation-arrested stages of normal cell development, the study of tumor cells frequently provides information about their normal cellular counterparts. This is particularly true for lymphoid cells and it is for that reason that, many years ago, we undertook to study the the germinal center (GC) derived lymphomas of SJL mice. The properties of these lymphomas, misnamed “RCS”, are summarized in table 1 and were previously reviewed (Ponzio et al., 1986).
