Abstract
With large parts of the neural circuitry for lordosis behavior determined, we can look for opportunities to generalize. In several cases these facts speak to issues longstanding in the neural control of behavior; in other cases new concepts may be induced. Some principles of operation arise from the input (ascending) side of the lordosis behavior circuit (Sections B and C); other features have more to do with the middle of the circuit (Sections D and F); and still others are related to motor control on the output side of the circuit (Sections G and H). These principles may be considered in relation to the neural control of other behavior patterns.
