Abstract
This case demonstrates the use of the MitraClip to successfully repair severe mitral regurgitation in a patient with prior mitral annuloplasty ring repair. The annuloplasty ring complicated the procedure by causing shadowing artifacts and by limiting movement of the clip. The case also illustrates how transthoracic and intracardiac echocardiography can complement transesophageal echo in the MitraClip procedure.
