Abstract
Teaching and learning of Geometry starts during the first school years, with the concepts of point, line, plane and with building figures, such as triangles, squares and others. Generally, the learning process takes place only inside the classroom and through Reading textbooks. This way of presenting the concepts does not take into account the forms and structures that are to be found in the students’ environments, thereby wasting the opportunity to create links between the concepts and designs found in nature.
In this paper we present the result of a teacher training program in which a Telepresence tool was used as technological mediator and Teaching for Understanding (TFU) was used as pedagogical framework. The central theme of the course was “Spatial thinking and geometrical systems”.
