Abstract
Accurately determining the identity of a person is becoming critical to our increasingly interconnected information society. As increasing number of biometric-based identification systems are being deployed for many civilian and forensic applications, biometry and applications of biometric-based identification have evoked considerable interest. In this paper, we attempt to describe the key research issues involved in the design of a biometric system.
