Abstract

In this Chapter, a scenario is presented that constitutes an example of healthcare delivery based on the Italian SPERIGEST information system. SPERIGEST was a national initiative, supported by the Italian Ministry of Health for the management of healthcare of patients mainly affected by cardiovascular diseases, and deals with clinical and administrative aspects. The scenario reflects various aspects of SPERIGEST, including sharing of information amongst autonomous clinical information systems and web-based management of patient medical records.
