A modulator controlled by telegraph signals, including radio, electronic, microwave, or optical signals, such as signals that represent (a) the code of the International Telegraph Alphabet 2, (b) the code of the International Telegraph Alphabet 5, i.e., the American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) seven-bit code, or (c) the dots and dashes of the international Morse code.
