Nieuwe richtlijnen voor diabetesbehandeling in de tweede lijn

Samenvatting

De NHG-Standaard Diabetes mellitus type 2 geeft richtlijnen voor de diagnostiek, behandeling en begeleiding van patiënten binnen de huisartsenpraktijk. Een dergelijke richtlijn bestond tot voor kort niet voor de behandeling van type 2-diabetespatiënten in de tweede lijn. Op initiatief van de NIV (Nederlandse Internisten Vereniging) en in nauwe samenwerking met onder meer huisartsen, diëtisten, diabetesverpleegkundigen, ziekenhuisapothekers en Diabetesvereniging Nederland zijn recent zes richtlijnen verschenen voor de diabeteszorg in de tweede lijn.
