Telemedicine als belangrijk focus voor innovatie in de huisartspraktijk

Samenvatting

Introductie van nieuwe diensten vereist nauwkeurige afstemming tussen alle gebruikers. Vooral als telemedicine wordt ingezet om chronisch zieken te monitoren, leidt dit tot veranderingen van zorgorganisatie. Patiënten kunnen veel gemakkelijker, sneller en op ieder moment een beroep doen op de zorg en zijn vaak beter op de hoogte van hun ziekte dan in het klassieke zorgmodel. Behalve tot een centralere rol van de patiënt leidt telemedicine mogelijk ook tot een veranderende rol van de betrokken medische disciplines: verpleegkundigen, huisartsen en specialisten. Telemedicine heeft de laatste twee decennia enorm aan toepassingen gewonnen. Achtereenvolgens worden telecardiologie, telepulmonologie en teledermatologie besproken.
