Effects of dietary icariin supplementation on the ovary development-related transcriptome of Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis)
2021, Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology - Part D: Genomics and ProteomicsCitation Excerpt :Previous studies have shown that MF could promote VTG synthesis and uptake, and boost ovary development in crustaceans. Exogenous MF was shown to stimulate ovarian growth and increase both oocyte diameter and GSI in Procambarus clarkii and prawns Scyonia ingentis (Laufer et al., 1998; Rodríguez et al., 2002). In vitro studies of Neohelice granulata and Macrobrachium rosenbergii showed that MF promoted the synthesis of ovarian proteins by upregulating the mRNA expression of VTG in their oocytes (Medesani et al., 2012; Medesani et al., 2015).
