2021, Journal of Sea ResearchCitation Excerpt :In the surveyed area, much shell debris appeared in sediments, and the Mz was relatively lower than in other subtidal zones on the east coast of Korea (Kwon et al., 2017; Paik et al., 2007; Yu et al., 2011). Ambrose and Anderson (1990) found coarser sediments near the rocky reefs than at distances of 10 or 20 m. Barros et al. (2001) found coarser sediments close to the rocky reef and fine sediments farther away from the reefs. Shell debris increased the proportion of coarse fractions near the reef.
