CSMD1 suppresses cancer progression by inhibiting proliferation, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, chemotherapy-resistance and inducing immunosuppression in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma
2022, Experimental Cell ResearchCitation Excerpt :Secondly, at the DNA level, the loss of CSMD1 in a large proportion of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), breast cancers and lung squamous cell carcinoma through an array-based comparative genomic hybridization study [30]. Some studies performed quantitative real time PCR (qPCR) and western blotting assays to reveal the loss of CSMD1 expression in lung SCCs, HNSCCs, liver, colorectal and prostate cancer [8,13,14]. Thirdly, microRNA-10b targets CSMD1 to promote gastric cancer progression [31].

2020, International ImmunopharmacologyNovel potential inhibitors of complement system and their roles in complement regulation and beyond
2018, Molecular ImmunologyCitation Excerpt :Such interactions have been reported in the literature for known regulators of neuronal migration and synapses formation that share homologous structures (Gaboriaud et al., 2011; Ng et al., 2009; Brown and Bridgman, 2009; Chen et al., 2008). Allelic loss, mutations, and methylations of the CSMD gene family chromosomal locus has been reported in a number of malignancies (head and neck, breast, prostate, colorectal, liver, lung, skin, squamous cell carcinoma) suggesting a role of the CSMD family members as putative tumor suppressors (Sun et al., 2001; Liu et al., 2012; Zhang and Song, 2014; Ma et al., 2009; Scholnick and Richter, 2003; Toomes et al., 2003; Midorikawa et al., 2009). In addition, a decrease in CSMD1 expression has been linked to poor prognosis and shorter survival of cancer patients (Escudero-Esparza et al., 2016; Toomes et al., 2003; Richter et al., 2005; Scholnick et al., 1996).
